Along with his role as Director of Theology and Research at Proverbs 31 Ministries, Joel is also a part of the preaching team at Transformation Church with pastor Derwin Gray. Joel earned a Ph.D. in theology under Drs. Patrick Schreiner (NT) and Michael Heiser (OT) with an emphasis on Paul’s household language in Ephesians as it relates to the Old Testament. Joel's new book, The Hidden Peace: Finding True Security, Strength, and Confidence Through Humility, is now available! He loves studying and teaching the brilliant truths found in Scripture and unpacking how they relate to our everyday lives. Joel works directly with Lysa and her team on all of her books and Bible studies through the research and writing phases. He is also one of the main teachers for Proverbs 31 Ministries’ daily Bible studies in the First 5 app, as well as one of the voices for the Therapy & Theology podcast.
