Before you read about my long adventurous life...check out the feature about Death In The Reeds in the October edition of The Big Thrill, the magazine of the International Thriller Writers Association: https://bit.ly/3C1G7Rn Now back to the bio: I've done a lot of things. I was a music columnist in Hollywood, a record company executive in New York, a guard at an L.A. juvenile hall, a cab driver in L.A., and a dishwasher in my youth. I was a writer on the radio program The History of Rock 'n Roll, the interviewer and writer on Motown's 10th anniversary special The Motown Story. I wrote the trouble making book The War on Christmas, published in 2005. I spent a decade as a television street reporter in San Francisco, plus two more decades tv reporting variously around California in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Sacramento. I grew up in the far north, in Redding, and went to high school in Fresno. I graduated from the UCLA Film School in 1969. After half a career as a general assignment reporter I became an anchor, first for MSNBC and later for Fox News in NYC. When my television days were over I did talk radio for a few years before it was time to end the broadcasting phase of my life. I put my tv reporting years to use in the Mickey Judge Mystery series, first with OJ's Knife, published in 2021 and now in Death in the Reeds, published September 2022. I didn't leave California until I was 50 years old, and while I've since lived in New Jersey and Texas, I won't live long enough to have lived anywhere longer than those decades in my native California.
