I was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and raised in nearby Council Bluffs, Iowa, where I graduated from St. Albert Catholic High School in 1970. I went on to attend Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, where in 1974, I received my bachelor of science in psychology. Then in 1977, I received my Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska. I am semi-retired from the practice of law in my hometown, where I currently reside. My children, Beth and Nathan, live in the Omaha area. I have three grandchildren, twins Izzy and Eva, and Luke.
