John LeMieux was born in Milwaukee, WI before moving to Maine at age 1. There is family speculation that his fear of small spaces started as his first basinet was a dresser drawer that may have been closed when he cried.
He was a college basketball coach for nine years. His women's basketball teams at Keene State College won back-to-back Division II ECAC championships while setting school records for wins in each of his two seasons at KSC. After KSC he initiated the men's basketball program at Colby-Sawyer College, leading his first team to a 13-12 record against Division III varsity opponents.
After leaving coaching John began to work in financial services with Merrill Lynch and other firms before co-founding Anton LeMieux Financial Group with his partner Eric Anton, in 2009. The business now serves clients across the nation with offices in Falmouth, Maine and Naples and Daytona Beach, Florida.
He lost his left leg to cancer in December of 2012. His story of the surgery, his physical recovery and emotional growth is unique but also universal. As he says in his book: life is relentless- it just keeps coming. How we respond is up to us.
