K. Furtado is author of "Days of Awe, Ten Days in Jerusalem that Changed Our Lives," a memoir of her first year of marriage in 1983 Jerusalem. She is a contributing author to "Our Health!" By Jane Luckmann, published by Prentice Hall in 1990. She was a contributing editor to several popular textbooks, including the nursing classics, Luckman and Sorensen’s "Medical-Surgical Nursing, A Psychophysiologic Approach," 3rd Ed, and Sorensen and Luckmann’s "Nursing Basics, A Psychophysiologic Approach," 2nd ed, both published by W.B. Saunders. She edited "DirectX 9, Programmable Graphics Pipeline" by Kris Gray, published by Microsoft Press. Specializing in non-fiction, she finds the truth always more interesting than fiction. She enjoys being outdoors, reading, language study, and community building.
