Karen Elise Wormack was born to African American parents both of mixed heritage including, Black American, Native American, and Irish. Miss Wormack has loved the spoken and written word all her life and penned her first poem in Elementary School, while residing in Southeast Washington, DC. Her parents encouraged their daughter to get the best education possible and to remain active in extra curricular activities. Miss Wormack was recognized throughout her Public School years with trophies and certificates acknowledging excellence in creative and academic performance. Similar educational productivity have followed Miss Wormack throughout adulthood. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Kean University, Union, NJ and Master's Degree in Public Administration with outstanding honors from Marywood University, Scranton, PA. Her Dossier of intellectual achievement also includes numerous professional licenses and certificates. Additionally, Miss Wormack continued her pursuit of writing excellence including, poems, songs, jingles, essays, sermons, and children's literature. Her love for poetic verse inspired by a paternal gene, as well as, influences from Phylis Wheatly, Dr. Seuss, Homer, and Shakespeare led to "The Adventures of Prissy and Missy" with "Sleepwalk Affair" being her first published children's picture book within the series. You will find Miss Wormack profiled in multiple editions of Marquis' "Who's Who," including; "Who's Who of American Women the Millennium Edition", "Who's Who in Business and Industry", "Who's Who in America" and "Who's Who in the World". Her legacy continues in the International Biographical Centre of Cambridge England's, "1000 Great Americans" First Edition, Honored Member in America's Registry of Outstanding Professionals, Alpha Epsilon Lambda and Pi Alpha Alpha, National Honor Society Member, "2000 Notable American Women", American Biographical Institute's "The Contemporary Who's Who", Cambridge "Who's Who", Stanford's "Who's Who", National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) and nominated by The International Biographical Centre of Cambridge England, "International Writer of the Year".
