Kate Reynolds is a novelist and the author of Ernestine, winner of the 2021 Best Indie Book Award (BIBA) for historical fiction and a semi-finalist for the 2021 Historical Fiction Booklife Prize. The book was also chosen as a 2021 Best Book Awards (historical category) in the American Book Fest. IN 2023, the audiobook version of Ernestine, narrated by the inimitable Meliora Dockery, took home the bronze medal. Kate’s twenty years of professional writing experience have taught her the value of research—a reader has every right to expect accuracy in a novel. Her latest novel, Pheemie’s War, is a coming-of-age story set in World War II Phoenix, Arizona. She has traveled extensively in Spain where most of her books are set and has also spent many happy years residing in Arizona. Now she lives and works in Bluffton, South Carolina with her husband and cat named Ernest Hemingway. Ernest fondly assists in the writing process by shuffling important papers from the desk to the floor.
