I am interested in your keeping yourself in good health by a proper diet. That is not to say I am going to give you a list of things to eat, but rather I am going to teach you about how to eat. We all know there is an epidemic of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and prediabetes in the modern western world. The common denominator is that they eat the modern western diet. I am going to show you how the changes in our diet in the last 200 years, as opposed to the previous 4000 years, has lead to this condition. To do this I am going to teach you what happens when you eat, and when you don't eat. I am going to teach you a little about fasting and why this is a normal condition for good health. Believe it or not, at the end you will agree and at least will fast 12 hours a day Although Type 2 diabetes and obesity are the two most obvious conditions resulting from our modern diet, autoimmune disease and various dementias also result from out diet. You will understand the difference between historical bread and modern bread, and how this has contributed to modern disease. If you have diabetes, I cannot reverse this condition. I can help you manage it. I can instruct you on the best way to lose fat, that is to reduce your obesity. Once you understand how your body works, you will agree with me. My books are mainly educational. I have broken down my large book, Diet and Health, into five smaller books for easier consumption. I have also begun another series of smaller books on Epigenetics, the expression of your DNA. Although many of you did not learn about this in school, in the next few years it will become more prominent in the news. You will understand how your diet drives epigenetic changes. Everyone who is overweight first tries the eat less and exercise more diet. This almost almost always fails as demonstrated by our 40% incidence of obesity which is rising. This is also the most common advice your health care provider gives you, despite the fact that it rarely works..My goal is to provide the food engineer, the person in the family responsible for the diet, enough information so that they can keep the family in good health. Over 3000 years, ago Moses wrote the days of our years are three score and ten; and if by reason of strength they be four score years, yet is their strength labor and sorrow. Now we have sanitation, antibiotics, and modern medicine. Last year our average lifespan was 75 years. Although I am a retired physician, none of my books contain medical advice. They just contain good advice.
