KELLY WARREN was born in Texas and raised as an Air Force / Army brat, attending more than ten public schools and two Catholic schools before her family finally settled in Belton, MO in 1976. Warren refers to Belton as her hometown and is very proud to have attended Belton High School, graduating in 1983. She went straight into the University of Central Missouri with an acting scholarship. In 1988, Warren graduated with a B.A. in Theatre and a minor in Broadcast and Film. While at university, Warren was cast in a lead role of five main stage plays and one dinner theatre. She was also inducted into the prestigious acting fraternity, Theta Alpha Phi. Warren moved to Los Angeles in 1989 to pursue an acting career. Since arriving in the City of Angels, Warren has not only worked as a news and traffic reporter on several well known Los Angeles radio stations for eight years, but has earned over 500 hours in massage therapy (specializing in Reiki and Cranialsacral massage). In addition, she has educated numerous individuals on healing herbs through her position at Eclectic Institute as a product representative. Simultaneously, Warren has produced five short films; two of which she wrote and directed and one was given the honor of best thriller at the LAIFF. Warren also earned the honor of best actress at LA New Wave festival for the first short, Muladharra, she co-produced. She has garnered roles on numerous films and TV shows including HBO’s Carnivale, Showtime’s Masters of Sex, and Clint Eastwood’s The Changleing. Honoring her theater roots, Warren established herself as an actress in the LA theater scene. She was a member of two highly acclaimed theater companies in the NoHo Arts District, The Road Theater company and the former company known as Actors’ Alley which restored the El Portal Theater to its former glory. While she was a member of these groups, Warren acted in two ovation nominated plays and was co-nominated for an ovation award for best costume design (under a pseudo name, Sarah Fernandez), as well as being nominated for producing a play with the late Len Lesser. Warren is not new to writing, although Shipmans’ Journeys: Seekers of the Light is her first published novel. She plans to make it a trilogy, with Shipmans' Journeys: Crimson Vale estimated to be released in 2018. These characters and stories were inspired by her love of action adventure stories like Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Arc and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.
