Kia Gordon has been fond of poetry for most of her life. Poetry caught her interest when she was a child due to the surge of Hip-Hop/Rap music in the 1980s. She has written several inspirational poems and newsletters for family and friends over the years. Her first book, the Ki: a poetic memoir, is a culmination of various poems that illustrate her growth and maturity. Kia is from North Chicago, IL and still resides in the Midwest with her two sons.
