Laura Nielson Denke graduated from BYU in 1970 with a BA. She now has a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a licensed counselor in the states of California and Washington. She also holds a national license in Mental Health Counseling. Laura is the author of “Ten Secrets for a Successful Celestial Marriage,” and “Before the Wedding.” Mrs. Denke has twenty-five years of experience helping couples improve their marriages.
In Laura's earlier career, she choreographed summer stock musical theatre in Lake Placid, New York, served a full time mission in Paris, France, married Conrad W. Denke in the Swiss Temple, taught choreography for the musical stage at Seattle Pacific University and Seattle University, and directed and choreographed dozens of ballets for her ballet school, The Seattle Children’s Ballet Company, such as The Nutcracker Suite, Cinderella, Giselle, Coppelia, Peter and the Wolf and many others including a performance tour in Spain and Portugal. Laura wrote and directed the children’s special for television entitled Adventures on Sinclair Island, syndicated in many countries around the world. Laura was the innovator and host for the television series Teens Talk. The series of 39 episodes aired in 160 cities around the US for four years. Currently Laura is the Executive Vice-President at Victory Studios in Seattle and Los Angeles where among her duties she co-manages the company with her husband, and writes and directs productions for various corporate and charitable organizations. Laura has won several awards for her outstanding directing ability including a Telly Award and Cine Golden Eagle Award.
In her church assignments, Laura has served as a seminary teacher, a teacher in Relief Society and Young Women, and in leadership positions in Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary.
