MJ McGalliard was born on a U.S. Army base called Igloo, which no longer exits. He'd lived in South Dakota, Alaska, Texas, Oklahoma, and Washington State by the time he finished High School. His BA in Performing Arts is from The Evergreen State College (A very spacey school) His MA in Strategic Communications is from Antioch University, Seattle (An even spacier school) He has yet to attend Star Fleet Academy an actual Space School. MJ was a stand up comic and actor touring for twenty years around the U.S. and Canada. As far as he can tell stayed in the exact same hotel room everywhere he went. Never one to follow the pack, MJ is hard at work on a fantasy series completely barren of dragons and wizards. He describes it as, "More Princess Bride than Lord of the Rings. And, oh yeah, it's funny." The first book in the Beggar's Day Series- "The Beggar Prince" is now out in paperback as well as a Kindle. The second in the series- "The Caged King" is available through Create Space and Amazon (paperback) and is also on Kindle. The first short story collection of Stories Told in the Dark, "The Following Shoes Are a Gift from the Pope" includes the title story, "Waiting for Fido", and the hit single- "LonnyDonny". The collection is available as a Kindle book as well as paperback. MJ hopes to have an audio edition out in early 2018. As well as authoring his own off beat brand of fiction MJ voices some pretty serious nonfiction through ACX and Broken Chair Studio for other author's audio books. Those titles include- "Do No Harm: Stories of Life, Death and Brain Surgery" "Chameleon: The True Story of Ted Bundy" "Legends of Hollywood: Edward G. Robbinson" "Bernie Sanders: The Age of Millennials and His Core Values" "A Vulgar Art: A New Approach to Stand-Up Comedy" and "Overshoot: The Ecological Basis of Revolutionary Change" All 19 titles are available through Amazon, itunes and Audible. The plan is for the third book of the Beggar's Day Series, "The Hidden Queen" to be out in 2018-ish. MJ currently lives in Washington State and kayaks every day. His blogs are mostly about life lessons learned in a tiny boat.
