Makeba Yasmeen was born and raised in Albany, Georgia and currently resides in Virginia. She has taught within the field of elementary special education for eight years, and holds four degrees. Makeba maintains a passion for writing, and has always possessed a gift of creative expression, since the young age of 6. She began writing literary works at the age of 26. Her first book, "32 Years of Keba: The Memoir of a Southern Girl," was self published in October, 2012. She is currently an audiobook narrator for Audible working on her 4th narrating project.
