An award-winning author, Margie Miklas writes medical and psychological thrillers and travel memoirs about Italy, a place which has captured her passion for travel. She is also the creator and owner of the travel blog, Margie inItaly, and a contributing writer for an Italian-American newspaper. A retired critical-care nurse, when she isn't writing or traveling,she enjoys spending time at home with her family, going to concerts, and trying out new recipes.
Her favorite place is the beach, and she likes learning new computer skills, when she is not traveling or writing. A member of the Florida Writers Association, Margie makes her home in Florida.
Margie's first book, a travel memoir, won a 2014 Royal Palm Literary Award by the Florida Writers Association. "Memoirs of a Solo Traveler - My Love Affair with Italy" details Margie's three month solo travel adventure in Italy.
Her second book, "My Love Affair with Sicily" recounts her experiences in herancestors' homeland as she returns again and again to the place where she feels so at home.
Her third book, "Colors of Naples and the Amalfi Coast" is a coffee table/photo book capturing the spirit of Campania in southern Italy.
Her award-winning novel, "Critical Cover-Up," is a medical thriller set in a critical care unit in Florida. The story line addresses issues of hospital politics, corruption and cover-up alongside a murder investigation.
In her fourth book on Italy, released October 9, 2018, "My Amalfi Coast Love Affair," Margie shares her personal experiences and love for her favorite part of Italy through storytelling. It continues to be a bestselling book. It was a semi-finalist for a 2020 Royal Palm Literary Award from the Florida Writers Association.
Her second novel, "A Cure for Deceit," is a 2020 Silver award winner in the thriller and suspense genre for the Florida Writers Association's Royal Palm Literary Award Competition.
