Have you ever been hit by something that made your world stop? I have. I had an amazing family, a great job, friends, and opportunities to travel. What I didn't know was that I also had cancer. I didn't fit the profile and never saw it coming, and yet there I was. It was incredibly hard and rocked everything in my life. But I also had God, and as I went through my very difficult months of treatment and recovery, I saw Him go before me and open the way, even when I did not understand. At the end of my treatment, God impressed upon my heart that I should do something for other cancer patients. In gratitude for what God had done for me, and in the hope of bringing something good out of something really bad - just as God loves to do - I wrote Today is Beautiful, a devotional for cancer patients. Once I started writing, the Lord would not let me rest until I had finished it, and I wrote knowing that somewhere out there, there were people who needed the words He was giving me. So that is my hope, that somehow Today is Beautiful will be there to minister to the people God has in mind for it to help. I hope that it can be a blessing to you or your loved one. And if you work with a ministry, group, or hospital that it can serve, please contact me and let me know so that we can get it out to encourage as many people as possible (fromgratitude@gmail.com). Mark P.S. My other great love is travel (thus my book of travel poems). Here I've shared a few pictures of my favorite travel sites. I hope to be traveling again soon and adding to these destinations!
