I have worn many hats over the years, mostly driven by passion, the likes of which can elicit a flurry of intense study. First and last, I'm a musician—a bassist by trade, but in 1975 I wanted to build guitars. I built musical instruments for 27 years, focusing on the classical guitar, even though in some circles I may be better known as the guru of the acoustic bass guitar R&D. Then, in 1998 I moved on to wine, studying to a depth where I became a self-taught enologist, which culminated in the book, Creating World Class Red Wine. I had already written Compost Tea Making, and Solar Flare Survival published under the pseudonym—Marc Remillard. The next project was a little gem of fiction titled, The Sacred Spring of the Blood Royal, published under my true name—Mark Stanley.
