My name is Martin Rowe, and I am a science fiction writer who is on a mission to revitalise what I see as a dormant genre by appealing to a new type of reader and hard-core Sci-Fi buff alike, combining new and original storylines and ideas with a fast paced narrative.
I feel I offer something that other science fiction writers do not, and that is a sound knowledge of the related technical and scientific subjects associated with the genre. I always seek to build my story around a plausible future timeline, bringing you the reader (technical and non-technically inclined), along with me on our journey to the stars.
I served in the Royal Navy for 22 years as a Weapons Engineer across multiple disciplines, including intelligence, before I took up the role of a Defence Engineering Consultant; something that I still do to this day.
I love doing the research for my books, and have a great interest in physics, biology, cosmology, military history and politics, always seeking to bring the most relevant and recent developments within the world around us to my books.
I live with my wife Ana and two children Anthony (19) and Mark (17) in West Sussex and am a lifelong Brighton & Hove Albion fan, who also enjoys good red wine and reading.
It is my ambition to finish the ‘Humanity’s Dawn’ trilogy by the end of 2024, before moving onto the abundance of ideas and other great stories I am currently stacking up.
This first instalment of this epic Sci-Fi trilogy ‘Compassion’s Cry’ focuses on the things that both unite and divide humanity now and in the far future. It explores issues of indifference, aspiration, truth, hope, bravery, and above all else, compassion.
I love, above all else, the interaction I have with my readers, and would love it if you reached out to me. I welcome all feedback, positive and negative, and see your opinions and views as the best tool I have at my disposal for growing as a writer.
I hope you enjoy reading my work as much as I do creating it!
Kind Regards,
Martin
