A long-time financial writer with a sideline in essays that find humor in serious business, Mary Lowengard settled into freelance writing in the late 1980s -- right after she quit her job in the finance department of a large insurance company that went belly-up shortly after she escaped. (It was not her fault.) "The Bucknoll Cottage Chronicles" originally appeared as a series of columns in the Buck Hill (PA) Breeze. The success of a 2021 online re-issue led to the June 2023 debut of paperback, Kindle and Audible versions of Bucknoll.
