Melissa Carroll, MFA, E-RYT200, is a writer, poet, and yoga instructor based in Florida. She guides more than 300 yoga students each week in downtown Tampa at the largest weekly yoga class in Florida: but it's not quantity, of course. Melissa has been teaching yoga and meditation since 2008, and focuses on helping students move beneath the mental chatter to uncover self-worth and inner peace. She leads workshops and retreats from Costa Rica to North Carolina to Tuscany. Melissa is the author of the poetry chapbook The Karma Machine (winner of the Peter Meinke Prize) and the editor of Going OM: Real-Life Stories on and off the Yoga Mat, featuring essays from Dani Shapiro, Ira Sukrungruang, and Claire Dederer, with a foreword by Cheryl Strayed. Melissa's writing has been featured on MindBodyGreen.com, Elephant Journal, in Mantra + Yoga Magazine, Creative Loafing, Poetry Quarterly, New South Review, and many other literary journals. She has appeared on Daytime TV, CBS San Francisco, iHeartRadio and on WMNF Radio. www.MelissaCarrollYoga.com
