Ned W. Schultz (1951- ) is a writer who lives on the Central Coast of California. A native of Lancaster, PA, he grew up with four brothers and sisters in a home where both parents were journalists. Following undergraduate work at Penn State, he completed a master's degree and a Ph.D. in developmental psychology at Ohio State. From 1976 to 2016 he served on the faculty at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, as an award-winning teacher and scholar. He holds the position of emeritus professor of psychology and child development. Schultz has been writing contemporary, literary fiction with psychological themes over many years, and has several novels in progress. He and his wife, a neonatal nurse and lactation consultant, are parents of two adult children and grandparents to twins. They reside with a black cat named Wolfie in the community of Los Osos, surrounded by the inspiring scenery and wildlife of Morro Bay State Marine Reserve, Montana de Oro State Park, and the Pacific.
