Nicole Townsend grew up wanting to become a newspaper reporter. She got that opportunity early in her career, cementing the responsibility of telling other people’s stories.
She later moved into corporate communications with a family-owned grocery chain. Starting as a grocery bagger, she worked three times for the same company, ending her career as the vice president of employee experience.
After a job elimination, Nicole started her own company, Experience Counts, in February 2020, with the goal of making work count for employees and businesses.
Today, she and her team support companies in developing their mission, vision and values; defining company strategy aligned with culture; creating internal communications strategies and delivering leadership development that supports engagement and retention.
Nicole continues to care about people, their stories and experiences. As an author, she focuses on helping individuals realize their strengths and continue to grow.
