Nika Comet was born in 1989 in the USSR in the dynasty of actors. Since her childhood, Nika loved singing so her parents signed her up for a musical school and a choir. She began performing with her choir (traveling both across the country and internationally) and then with her mother quickly becoming a known participant of actors' festivals and gala shows and performing at the biggest theatrical stages around the country. At the age of 15 Nika joined her first band and dived into the underground culture exploring different music genres such as punk-rock, ska and later emo. In the next few years she and her band "The Sun" took part in a TV-show like "American Idol" where they went to the finals after 2 months on the project and their songs were taken as soundtracks to popular TV series. After Nika graduated from university with a BA in linguistics and 2 diplomas of interpreter, she started looking more into writing songs in English. She also worked as a freelance interpreter with world-class celebrities such as Placido Domingo, Woody Allen, Anastasia, Village People to name a few. In 2016 Nika and her husband and guitarist Alexander Mishustov took a one-way ticket to Los Angeles, CA to pursue their lifelong dream "to make it on the international scene". They named their new band Chase the Comet and started releasing music in English (with 2 full-length albums "Rush'N'Rule" (2018) and "Out of the Matrix" (2019) and actively touring the US playing over 100 shows in more than 7 states. They were also growing an international and loyal following online. In 2020 they released a collaboration video with Lena Scissorhands of the metal band "Infected Rain" on Napalm Records that gained >1.1 M views on the label's YouTube channel. Nika and Alex's American journey and adventures up to this point were described in Nika's book "Chasing the Dream" now available on Amazon. In 2021 after 5 long years they finally and miraculously managed to figure out their issues with documents by receiving an artist visa for people with extraordinary abilities. When Russia invaded Ukraine, both Nika and Alex explicitly expressed their anti-Putin position playing at Ukrainian fundraisers and speaking out against the war and the dictatorship on their socials. In 2023 they signed a partnership deal with Pavement Entertainment and are releasing Chase the Comet's upcoming album through Pavement and Sony in the beginning of 2024.
