Niv Kaplan was born on Kibbutz Ayelet Hashahar in Northern Israel in 1959. At age 11 he moved with his parents to NYC for three years. After completing high school, Niv served three years in a special-forces reconnaissance outfit and had taken an active part in forming the IDF's Alpine unit which he served in reserve duty.
Niv received his BsC degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from Cal State University Northridge (CSUN) in 1992, spending close to ten years in New York and Los Angeles. He started writing "Disappearance" right after receiving his University degree, completing it in 1997. The book was written in English, translated and published in Hebrew in Israel in June, 2012, and had since become a bestseller, received praise for its suspenseful plot, precise structure, and identifiable characters, and is considered a surprise success for a first time author in Israel.
Since then, Niv has written six more books, including “Tracks” which was published in 2013 in Israel (translated to Hebrew) and published in Amazon reaching the no 14 place in paid books. Niv published his third book “Kibbutz, Unplugged” in Israel in 2015, and had since written two sequels to “Tracks” - “Sleepers” and “The Hijacking”, both complete but yet to be published.
Niv has written “Sea Raid”, completing it in 2020, with the Israeli Navy Seals who had boarded the Mavi Marmara, trying to infiltrate the Israeli blockade of Gaza, back in 2010.
Niv’s latest book, “WhiteBoy” has been completed this year, and deals with a trial in NYC of a high ranking officer accused of murder by another officer who claims the murder took place in a past life and that the mind and brain are distinct and separable, and that consciousness might survive death and can link up with another physical body. “WhiteBoy” is yet to be published.
Niv has written all his books in English, except for “Kibbutz, Unplugged” which was written in Hebrew, published in Israel, and translated to English, but yet to be published in English.
Niv has been working in the Aerospace industry for the last 29 years. He lives on Tel Aviv.
