I am Paul.
I want you to know a little bit about me, so you will have trust in the books that I publish.
When I think of my career, the first thing that comes to mind is journalist. It is true that I am a Realtor, landlord, condo association president and (inactive) attorney. But foremost, I am a journalist.
To me, journalism is very much an honorable profession. The abiding values of a legitimate journalist are truth, fairness and commitment to society. I fundamentally believe in these ideals.
For about two decades, I worked as a television reporter. My first job took me to Fairbanks, Alaska, braving subzero temperatures and a popper’s wage. Eventually, I worked in Seattle, Washington and then as the chief investigative reporter in Columbus, Ohio.
I picked up thirteen Emmy awards, an Edward R. Murrow and many others. Obviously, I liked to enter award contests. But I loved finding the truth and exposing corruption even more.
That spirit of journalism is still alive, even though much of my time is spent in real estate these days. I enjoy researching, analyzing and discussing all things real estate. It’s important to me that my clients, customers and everyone else get the absolute truth about real estate investing. Hopefully, I can provide information that you can’t get anywhere else.
This varied background worked in my favor when I founded a broadcast news service on Maui. We focus on real estate matters, along with general news and investigative reporting.
As a Realtor, I help investors. Mostly, these investors are looking to find vacation rentals on the island of Maui-- a place they can visit, love, and often, derive income. I also own rental property and assist in the management of other investments.
My academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science degree in Rhetoric and Media Studies at Willamette University in the town I grew up, Salem, Oregon. An academic rebirth at Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio where I graduated Magna Cum Laude and published a law review article (I cherished every minute of law school).
Finally, I love discovering and writing about what I find. I feel so grateful to Amazon for opening the doors wide for independent authors.
I hope that you will come along with me, so we can explore the world of real estate together!
