Peter Stafford-Bow is a novelist, screenwriter and international wine consultant. He is best known for the Felix Hart Novels, a series of satires set in the world of wine and big business, featuring Felix Hart, the cheerfully amoral drinks executive. Stafford-Bow is a noted public speaker, wine educator and a regular on the literary festival circuit. Stafford-Bow's debut novel, Corkscrew, is a picaresque tale which follows Felix Hart's early travails at the hands of sociopathic supermarket executives and international gangsters. The book draws on the author's experience working as a wine buyer for some of the world’s largest retailers, and is now a cult classic on both sides of the Atlantic. First published in 2016, Corkscrew was a finalist in the 2018 People's Book Prize. The sequel, Brut Force, published in 2018, finds Felix Hart caught between a murderous luxury goods corporation and a gang of organic wine fanatics. The third novel, Firing Blancs, published in 2020, follows the protagonist to South Africa, where he becomes embroiled in a racially charged public relations fiasco. The fourth book in the series, Eastern Promise, is due for release in July 2023. Set in China's golden, haze-shrouded megacities, Eastern Promise provides Felix Hart with his greatest challenge yet; a deadly wine conspiracy that threatens to consume the entire world. Stafford-Bow's favourite authors include John le Carré, Hilary Mantel and George MacDonald Fraser. He lives in London with a wealthy heiress, an extensive wine collection and his pet ferrets, Brett and Corky.
