THE OTHERS or 7 - the Hail the Queen saga
There are five novels in the series. Each is called a testimony and starts with the Red Queen, the Black Queen and the White Queen. Although the Red Queen is a 'serial killer,' she's just a tad more psychopathic than Villanelle and is in fact based on expert research into real-life spies who end up with multiple personality disorder.
At the centre of the narrative is an Irish woman intelligence officer at MI6 headquarters in London nicknamed Nearby. But she says she isn't the protagonist. "It’s about killing queens, it’s about the others," she tells us.
Raechel recently said this: 'The story is a slow burn like. It's about these women, these queens, who have this incredibly interlinked past. It's very noir, it's very dark. It's based on real events and an unfinished 1990s movie trilogy with British actor John Hurt and American legend Jack Nicholson called 'St Peter's Gate.' I wanted to find new ways of telling dark that were really up to the bench-mark of the darkest secret of the twentieth century.'
In 2017, Raechel created the first novel in the world with a Mix Tape (music soundtrack): when the first novel in the series was published in paperback under the title 'Metapox.'
Raechel was born in Ireland and spent part of her childhood in the USA. She trained as a researcher, and met the screenwriter of the "St Peter's Gate" films at a conference on Lyme Disese. She loves animals, the wild and conservation passionately. She currently resides in England.
