I love writing fiction for children and young adults but I also write screenplays across a variety of genres, mostly with a historical angle of some sort.
Dan Hawkes, my début novel, was written for my children, who were about the ages of the principal characters at the time, and read to them chapter by chapter as it came off the page. There can be few more rewarding experiences as a writer than having your own children beg you to hurry up and write the next chapter...
