I was born in the South of Africa on New Year’s Day, a fact that was reported in the local paper. This was my last brush with any type of fame.
A good education was followed, eventually, by an engineering degree, and having tried the army and the police force (as a reservist in both cases) I went into the world of industry. This industrial career was mercifully cut short following an accident while playing cricket in India. While preventing myself from being run out I fell heavily and shattered the ball joint in my left shoulder. As a part of my physiotherapy I started writing again and found a satisfaction in fiction that no management meeting could ever match.
Having had animals all my life I live in Bournemouth and am currently owned by a Bengal who graciously shares my time with a Labrador and a ginger tom.
Apart from writing I spend my time working as a cook although I still enjoy long walks with my dog.
