Sara Au is first and foremost a mom of two teens, a daughter and a son. Additionally, she's a journalist specializing in parenting and health issues. A Syracuse University graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, she’s written for such publications as ePregnancy Magazine, CNNMoney.com, Runner’s World, FitBody Magazine, and the Girl Scout’s Leader Magazine. She also works for Orange County Public Schools, the 9th largest school district in the nation. Together with pediatric neuropsychologist Dr. Pete Stavinoha, she’s the co-author of Stress-Free Potty Training (AMACOM Books, 2008) and Stress-Free Discipline (AMACOM Books, 2015). She's also the write on Kids, Sex & Screens (Fair Winds Press, 2018) with Dr. Jillian Roberts. In her B.C. life (before children), she was a breaking news producer for CNN in Los Angeles, Atlanta and New York. Her impetus for writing the Stress-Free Parent series is her frustration with other parenting outlets that gave cookie-cutter advice which didn't suit her unique children or situation - not even close. In her book, articles and videos, Sara always strives to consider everyone's individual situation when offering tips or advice. She hopes parents take away a sense of empowerment after reading or listening to her work.
