I have lived in Montana off and on since 1965. Montana history has been my special interest since attending K Ross Toole’s class at the University of Montana. I enjoyed working in Glacier National Park in my twenties and continue to enjoy hiking and biking in Northwest Montana. Working and living with ranchers and farmers stimulated my respect and admiration for this rigorous lifestyle. Living on the Mexican border in Southern California and Texas for several years led me to appreciate Hispanic culture. The life story of my grandmother’s grandmother inspired me to use her name as my pen name (and photo.) She cared for her invalid husband and supported her six children, two of whom had special needs, working as an art professor at Wheaton College for over thirty years. My husband and I live near Flathead Lake in Northwest Montana with our sweet kitty.
