Sarina Rose was born to first generation Italian-American parents in New Jersey. Her family plays a large part informing her characters. Her father’s family occupied the four apartments in the house build by her paternal grandfather. “I was free to wander through the apartments.” Her mother’s family lived only about five miles away and added to the warmth and charm of her upbringing. Ms. Rose attended local public schools. She graduated from Cliffside Park High School and the College of St. Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ. She learned to use the public library as a youngster. “I remember being a member of The Bookworm Club at the Fairview Library and a volunteer in my elementary school library during fifth grade.” As a graduate of the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ with a B.A. and a certificate to teach Spanish grades K-12 she set her sights on teaching. She balanced teaching with raising with raising four children, tutoring, selling World Book Encyclopedia, tutoring and servicing insurance accounts. “I continued my studies at Kean University graduate school accruing credits in computer usage, reading, liberal studies, science, art history, music history, and cooperative education courses. Somewhere along the way I took an on-line creative writing class and began what I really love to do now which is write stories full time. It is no struggle for me to sit with my laptop in front of the TV and create stories.” Sarina says she is lucky enough now to live near the beach on the Space Coast in Florida with her husband and their two loveable dogs, Andy, a Labradoodle, and Cici, a Shih Tzu. “I think that is luck enough, but I am also very lucky to have had a great family. My children and I live far apart and do not see them often enough. However, I do enjoy my time with my characters as company. I am never bored or lonely. However, I do leave the house sometimes to volunteer for three interesting local organizations.” Sarina Rose is a member of Space Coast Authors of Romance and Romance Writers of America and numerous Facebook writers and readers groups. She leads lively discussion groups at two local senior learning centers. She is a member of the Melbourne Women’s Club. “As the Arts Chairperson I contribute articles to our award winning newsletter on local performances and exhibits. I sometimes quilt children’s blankets for local hospital.” Ms. Rose volunteers two hours a week as a receptionist at the Ruth Funk Center for Textile Arts at the Florida Institute of Technology where “fiber arts rule.”
