I love dogs, sloths, and I love softball! I've included all three of these in my children's book series. Writing has always been a passion of mine. My beloved mother who recently passed was the person who blessed me with the gift of writing. Writing notes of encouragement to friends and family was how my writing first began, then it grew into a radio/advertising career, and in 2016, God placed it on my heart to start writing children's books.
I saw so many people, young and old, struggling and searching for love in all the wrong places. Desperately wanting to fit in and feel accepted. Suicide rates soaring and five year old's already having body image issues. It got me thinking, What if we stopped needing other people's approval and validation, and started loving like our dogs love?
Dogs love you no matter what. They're always happy to see you. They don't hold anything back. They're loyal. They live in the moment. They're content just being with you. They don't judge. They're forgiving. Their job is to love you! I truly believe that God put man's best friend on this earth for us to experience unconditional love for ourselves, and then share this same love with others.
The main character in the series is a dog, Coach Gracie. She was my sweet pug. Gracie will encourage and teach these troubled kids on the "Louisville Slothers" softball team about unconditional love, teamwork, character building, and how to develop a real, lasting love in themselves and one another. They may start out losing, but they'll finish with a healthy self-esteem, confidence, a strong love, and a winning attitude!
My hope is that every reader and audiobook listener will begin to see themselves as incredible, valuable individuals - Because you are! God doesn't make junk. He makes jewels! And to see those around you, even those you thought were your enemies, in a whole new light and learn to love freely and unconditionally.
Five more books are in the works for a total of seven in this series. Currently, there's two, beautifully illustrated hardcover books published and available as well as two newly released audiobooks to compliment 9 Lives and There's No Crying in Softball. Please give them a look or listen and I'd love for you to share what you think. Rate and Review Them.
Love,
