I was hatched in 1971 in a town called Witney, in West Oxfordshire. I lived in a council house with my mum, and two older sisters. Despite my family being as poor as church mice, I had a great childhood. I left school in 1988, I wanted to be a policeman, but wasn't tall enough (height was 5ft 8in for a man, I was 5ft 4in...even though I asked if I could have a bigger hat!...nope), but was fortunate to get an apprenticeship with British Gas. Roll on to March 2020, I was now living in Dorset, separated from my wife. Renting a house on my own, during the global pandemic of Covid -19, I was working for SSE Home Services, and was furloughed until August. The first two weeks were strange, having nothing to do, and being paid to do so! The third week.....ah bliss, watch a bit of Judge Judy, go for a lot of walks in the beautiful Dorset countryside, and a mile from the sea, the beach was idyllic. It was this time off I decided to write four books, the first has finally just been published 'Life's a Gas!'. This is after a few rollercoaster years of different jobs, family illnesses, and relationship hiccups. It's about my memoirs of the first 10 years as a young Gas Engineer, I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it. The other three books, are 'in the pipeline' (no pun intended), I won't spoil the surprises instore, let's just say, they involve...skinheads in a car, pond dunking, a firework mishap, and many more. Please feel free to give me feedback on your thoughts of my very first book. Thank you, and enjoy!
