Stuart Leishman was born in York, England in 1946. At age nineteen he emigrated to Regina, Saskatchewan in Canada. He then moved to North Vancouver, British Columbia in 1970. He began his career as a policeman when he joined the West Vancouver Police Department in 1973. He had a long career in the uniform division before finding his true love, being an investigator in the Detective Office. Stuart has always enjoyed writing, particularly if he can add some humour to the subject. However, his first book was far from humourous; he wrote a large part of and edited a book for the Police Association about Child Sexual Abuse. He retired at the rank of Sergeant in 2002 and was asked to become the Editor of "The Thin Blue Line", the official magazine of the BC Federation of Police Officers. After six years he stepped back from that but continued writing a weekly column for the North Shore News, a community newspaper. It was his columns in this paper that inspired him to write his second book, "The Beat Goes On" humourous anecdotes from his police career. Stuart has now written and published his third book, "The Detectives". This book was published on Amazon in late February 2015 and is proving to be a hit. "The Detectives" looks at Stuart's entry into the world of an investigator, with a few humourous incidents that occurred while he learned his trade. It then looks at a number of the criminal investigations that he conducted including some photographs of crime scenes and copies of documents used in actual investigations. In June 2017 Stuart published his first paperback, "The Chronicles of Tiddly Cove P.D." This is a compilation of his two eBooks with added stories.
