Susan Bailey is an independent Alcott scholar and spiritual writer. Her first book, "River of Grace: Creative Passages Through Difficult Times" was released by Ave Maria Press in October of 2015. A second book, "Louisa May Alcott: Illuminated by The Message' was published by ACTA Publications in November of 2015. She has contributed an essay on May Alcott Nieriker to the forthcoming "The Forgotten Alcott: Essays on the Artistic Legacy and Literary Life of May Alcott Nieriker," to be released by Routledge Taylor & Francis Group on December 29, 2021. Bailey is a contributor to "Alcott's Imaginary Heroes: The Little Women Legacy," published by Pink Umbrella Books LLC in 2018. and the best-selling "The Catholic Mom's Prayer Companion," published by Ave Maria Press in 2017. She is currently working on the first-ever biography of Elizabeth Sewall Alcott, the inspiration for Beth March in "Little Women." Bailey is the curator of the award-winning "Louisa May Alcott is My Passion" website founded in August of 2010. She writes book reviews and articles for BookTrib.com and has published several articles in "Discover Concord" magazine. She is a correspondent for The Catholic Free Press from the Diocese of Worcester, MA. A professional musician and graphic artist, Bailey released three CDs and performed on EWTN, CatholicTV, and World Youth Day 2002. She and her husband, Rich, have two grown children and live in North Grafton, Massachusetts.
