My full name is Troy Renee Albracht, but I go by Renee. I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, but I lived in Nashville, TN, for fifteen years. In 2010 I got divorced after almost 13 years of marriage, and in 2012, I was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. After being in remission for one year, I decided to move back home to Texas. I answered the call to ministry in 2016 and was ordained as an elder in the Church of the Nazarene in April 2021. Just as Pastor/Chaplain Renee bucks traditional Christian labels, my fictional writing fuses two traditionally differing genres – Christian and realist literature. I live with mental illness – specifically depression, anxiety, and what has been defined as COVID-PTSD that blossomed after three years of everything I saw and experienced during the pandemic. I love my job and am good at what I do, but if I am not careful and diligent, I can easily morph back into that lost, lonely, isolated, and insecure little girl whenever I take off my ministry cape (I don’t really wear a cape, but that would be cool). Personal self-care is a daily and sometimes moment-by-moment battle. During the pandemic, I created TRA.Perspective as a way to share one of my self-care techniques, my fictional writing. A free downloadable copy of my books can be found on my site at https://traperspective.com/.
