In 2002, I moved to Los Angeles, where I gained my MFA in Creative Non Fiction at the University of California, Riverside. Upon graduating I completed an internship in mental health psychosocial rehabilitation, working at Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services in Los Angeles, using memoir as a tool to aid self-expression and recovery. My work has appeared in the Guardian UK, the New York Times, the Washington Post, KCRW UnFictional, KCET Departures, Sinister Wisdom, and other literary journals. The New York Times, Unmoored by a Psychotic Break https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/21/well/family/unmoored-by-a-psychotic-break.html Washington Post, Why I’m holding on tight to my adult son when other parents are letting go https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/parenting/wp/2016/12/13/why-im-holding-on-tight-to-my-adult-son-when-other-parents-are-letting-go/?utm_term=.809d725e0b33 https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2022/jan/15/how-weekly-bike-rides-with-a-group-of-supportive-women-showed-me-a-route-to-joy
