Four times we moved and changed schools before I graduated high school. My English skills took a beating. To this day, after twenty-nine years of marriage, I still have my wife proofread even a thank you note before it goes out. Writing a book was never on my horizon.
This first book, "Start Here" is a work of necessity. It is something that had to come out so I could share it with those that need to hear its message. If at all possible, I don't want anyone to needlessly live in ignorance as long as I did.
The instructions for this author page said to tell about myself. Here goes: For over sixty years, I lived in and very close to Springfield, Missouri except for a couple of brief detours. Southwest Baptist University is where I received my degree in Business Administration. Being physically gifted directed me to athletics. I had hopes of playing Professional baseball, but no one else was thinking that.
In my youth, I stacked cheese at Kraft, sold cars, ran a leasing department, managed a sporting goods store and traveled raising funds all across Iowa. The last thirty-three years I've spent as a photographer traveling the U.S.A. along with a studio in Springfield Missouri. We currently live near Tomball Texas.
There are nine grandchildren between three daughters and a son. They are a delight. My theory on parenting to my kids is, "We screwed you up, now it's your turn to screw up your kids." But I have to say that they are doing a fine job.
One last note about "Start Here"; in my early sixties, there was a moment that clarity hit me just like a clap of thunder. I was amazed. This is what I talk about and explain the best I know how in the book.
