Tom Newton lives in upstate New York. He is the author of Warfilm, Bloomsbury 2015, Seven Cries of Delight, Recital Publishing 2019, Voyages to Nowhere, Recital Publishing 2021 and Fabian: A Cubist Biography, Recital Publishing 2025. His short story collection Seven Cries of Delight was the winner of the Dactyl Foundation Literary award in 2019.
He spent many years working in the film industry, while pursuing a parallel career as a musician and sound engineer. He was a participant in London's punk music scene in the late seventies and is the co-host of the podcast The Strange Recital.
