Wendy is a retired nurse, semi-retired hairdresser, mother of two grown children and grandmother of three. People and children have always been her foremost interest. When her own children were young, storytelling was a favorite pastime while traveling. Those stories were about two children named Mary and John who were created to reflect the lives of her own son and daughter. As her children grew older, childhood storytelling became less relevant. When her grandchildren came along (a boy and girl of course), the Mary and John theme was revived as a way to convey positive ideas about growing up and living in the world. Wendy believes her story themes are “God inspired.” The topics cover many life experiences a child may encounter, like obedience, lying, bullying and sharing. Biblical references speak to their emerging spiritual growth. Wendy’s perspective on storytelling interprets the challenges and difficulties in life as components of “The Great Adventure.” This follows a line of thinking where God’s ways are more interesting and exciting than the ways of mankind. It promotes the desire to look forward to what God will do next. If you like dramatic children’s stories, written from a Christian perspective, please join us for the fun.
