Yvonne Castañeda, LICSW, is a bilingual and bicultural clinical social worker, educator, author, and spiritual care facilitator whose work bridges the heart, mind, and soul. The proud daughter of Mexican and Cuban immigrants, Yvonne brings a deep cultural awareness to her practice, rooted in compassion, truth, and the healing power of connection.She serves as Director of Community-Based Initiatives and part-time faculty at the Boston College School of Social Work, where she fosters nonprofit partnerships to address systemic inequities and teaches courses on macro practice, policy, and Latinx communities. A dedicated advocate for equity and healing, she also teaches Pastoral Care and Counseling to Permanent Deacons in formation at St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology. In 2022, Yvonne founded SoulFuerza Therapy, a private practice offering trauma-informed psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families. Certified in EMDR and trained in holistic healing modalities, including yoga, she supports clients in navigating grief, identity, and relational challenges with care and cultural humility. A contributing writer for Psychology Today, she uses her voice to foster understanding around mental health, relationships, and the complexities of cultural identity. She earned her BA in International Relations from Florida International University and her MSW from Boston College, where she was a proud member of the Latinx Leadership Initiative. Yvonne also serves on the Boards of North Suffolk Community Services and Doc Wayne.
