more relevant today than ever before

Very dark, very explicit. But the themes covered in this book show the harsh reality of how detached our consciousness is in an unforgiving, hostile society.

An interesting point of view towards reality

While the concept of the self and the society is highly questioned by the author in this story, I don't believe it to be a good read. It simply feeds the negativity bias that we hold towards humanity. Moreover, the story progression is shaky and the climax is dull and unenthusiastic. You know it's a bad novel if you don't even see the end coming. And the narration felt forced and/or numb. In a way, it perfectly showcases the vanity of man. But doesn't make for a worthy read.
