About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
'All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.'
When the downtrodden animals of Manor Farm overthrow their master Mr Jones and take over the farm themselves, they imagine it is the beginning of a life of freedom and equality. But gradually a cunning, ruthless élite among them, masterminded by the pigs Napoleon and Snowball, starts to take control.
Soon the other animals discover that they are not all as equal as they thought, and find themselves hopelessly ensnared as one form of tyranny is replaced with another.

So very apt that it makes one chuckle
Penned in 1945, this political satire, stood test of time. Perhaps to our bad luck, we would find a matching situation even in early 21st century. If we were to borrow last few lines from the book, today one can not tell a capitalist, from a communist, nor a authoritarian, from a democratic leader. It appears that some remain more equal than the others. A must read!
