About this listen

Gwendolyn Goode lives a charmed life.

As owner of an occult shop in downtown Salem, Massachusetts, she's accustomed to all things odd and otherworldly. But when a bloody animal sacrifice is left as a warning outside her place of business, the police seem to think Gwen might be the target of some truly evil-doers. Suddenly, her sunny existence is riddled with danger in the form of crazed pagans, rogue employees, and nefarious henchmen. There's only one man who can protect her until the storm passes...

Graham Graves has no time for witchy nonsense.

Not in his love life and definitely not in his line of work. Despite the ever-present oddities of his hometown, the private investigator and acclaimed police consultant prides himself on staying objective in every case that comes across his desk. That all changes when Gwendolyn—a woman who gets under his skin like no other—finds herself in the crosshairs of dangerous criminals. Graham is determined to make her safe, even if her presence tests his steely resolve. As their mutual dislike sizzles into unexpected attraction… he becomes even more determined to make her something else: His.

Bad Luck Charm is a total standalone romance featuring cameos from a fortune-telling parrot, a modern-day pirate, and a coven of well-meaning octogenarians. With characters that leap out of the book and plenty of spooky twists and turns to keep you guessing. Fans of Johnson's previous Boston Love Story series will adore this blend of heat, humor, and suspense.

Oohhh... This one was such a freaking fun ride. I had a blast reading this one. Start to end, this book certainly doesn't let you go and my favorite parts were definitely the DIALOGUES and the bantering and the chemistry between Graham and Gwen...oh my.
Also, the narrator, Isabelle Turner has definitely become one of my top favorite female narrator because her voice was just so perfect.

Gwendolyn has her own coffee shop slash selling witchy stuff and merchandise too on the side. Having her own painful past, her aunt Collette was the only bright beacon in the Darkness of her past.

So even though she's had to uproot her life and settle in this town, she wouldn't hesitate to do it because her aunt's legacy was now her own legacy.

A crime investigation near her shop starts a Dark chain of events that might somehow be related to Gwen herself.

Not to mention the detective and Graham fighting over her. (This is not a triangle, be rest assured😉)

But Gwen going toe to toe and having it out with Graham every chance she gets... OH MY... I was definitely at times a bit frustrated with the way Gwen just wouldn't stop but I totally got why she did what she did.

You know what made my heart race though, the way GRAHAM WAS WITH GWEN. He never gave up on her, he found their bickering cute and not only that, but his Take Charge attitude coupled with his possessive nature... OH MY.... I wanted that man for myself, that's for sure. 😍

I love me a book with Witchy background in an urban setting and this book certainly had so many elements that kept me totally hooked.

I really laughed and smiled so many times and the way Gwen argued, had me rolling my eyes but also found it adorable.

Gwen and Graham had so much of that hot, delicious kind of tension to burn and when they finally did.... 🥵🔥... These two definitely had that heart-racing and melting kinda chemistry. 💋

I also loved Gwen's bestie and how she was her girl, supporting her no matter what.

I'm so looking forward to reading the next two books in this series. Eeeppp... I'm so excited and glad that those two books are already released. Absolutely loved loved this one. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
