About this listen

Kai

I’m a single dad and starting pitcher for Chicago’s MLB team. I’m stretched too thin, but I don’t want help raising my son.

Each of his previous nannies only lasted a few weeks before I let them go. Now, my coach is putting his foot down by hiring the one person I can’t fire—his daughter.

Miller Montgomery is the last woman I should fall for. Too wild, too young, and too unattached.

Chicago is just a quick stop for her. I thought I’d be counting down the days until she left, but summer feels too short when I start thinking about forever.

Miller

As a high-end pastry chef who recently won the most prestigious award in my industry, I’m desperate to prove I deserve it. But with a new title comes new pressure, and I can’t create a fresh and inspiring dessert to save my life.

With only two months to get back on track, I should be focusing in the kitchen, but instead, I let my dad talk me into using my time off to nanny for his star player’s kid.

Kai Rhodes forgot how to have fun, and I’m eager to jog his memory. But when he and his son start to feel like home, I have to remind us both that my time in Chicago ends with the summer.

Besides, I’ve always been a runner, and the last thing I want is to get caught.

Love it

What a great experience listening to the audiobook of this book, it was freaking amazing. This series is really something else, each book offers something new and a different emotion. I thought Ryan Shay was out of the box but just wait and meet Kai Rhodes, he is finger-licking good. And Miller perfectly matches the vibe to the core of the heart.

Do you wanna know, what was the top most lovable aspect of the book?? It was the little Angel Max. He won my heart. If you want to read an amazing story with banter and lots of people to support everything and everyone then read this book. The narrators did a fabulous job of bringing life to these characters and the story.

Caught Up 🧡

Well, I used my Audible monthly credit for the audio of this book and OMG, I'm so happy I did that! 😃📚 This was such a joyful book and the Audible version was amazing. Kai, who is a grumpy single daddy to a toddler and a baseball player, is my current book boyfriend. 😍 He was just so good, sweet, sensitive, loyal, and hot! 🔥

Due to circumstances, he has to hire Miller (his coach's daughter) as a nanny for his toddler. 👶 Miller was the sexy, sunshiny girl-next-door baker taking a short break from her career to find herself and regain her baking ideas. 🍰 She's a baking chef who doesn’t like to settle anywhere and is always on the go. She agrees to become the nanny to Max (Kai's son) for 2 months of her summer break. ☀️

The bond between Miller and Max was just so adorable. 🥰 The moment where he calls her "mama" after trying to say that word for so many days brought happy tears to my eyes. 😢 There were so many cute moments between Max and Miller, like when they bake together in Kai's kitchen or when she tries to pacify him when he cries. 🍪👩‍🍳👶

Kai and his son were a complete family after Miller joined them. ❤️ Kai was the true hero any girl would want. He supported Miller and understood her in a way nobody ever could. He let her go to chase her dreams even though it broke him. 💔 All these parts just made me mad for him. Miller was just so good for them. She loved them fiercely and completed their family. 💕👨‍👩‍👦

Monty (Miller's father and Kai's coach) was also my favorite character from the book as he brought so much emotion and joy. His sacrifices for Miller were priceless. 🥺 Kai and Miller may have started disliking each other, but their close proximity brought them so much closer, and their love bloomed so beautifully. 🌸

This book was definitely my favorite read, and you should not miss it if you love a sports single dad romance! 🥇⚾❤️
