About this listen
Adrian Tchaikovksy's critically acclaimed stand-alone novel Children of Time is the epic story of humanity's battle for survival on a terraformed planet.
Who will inherit this new Earth?
The last remnants of the human race left a dying Earth, desperate to find a new home among the stars. Following in the footsteps of their ancestors, they discover the greatest treasure of the past age - a world terraformed and prepared for human life.
But all is not right in this new Eden. In the long years since the planet was abandoned, the work of its architects has borne disastrous fruit. The planet is not waiting for them pristine and unoccupied. New masters have turned it from a refuge into mankind's worst nightmare.
Now two civilizations are on a collision course, both testing the boundaries of what they will do to survive. As the fate of humanity hangs in the balance, who are the true heirs of this new Earth?

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Story
All Systems Red is the tense first science fiction adventure novella in Martha Wells' series The Murderbot Diaries. For fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans.

A good book in retrospect
The narration is excellent. Although I genuinely considered dropping the book multiple times during the first half, I’m glad I stuck through. The book seems very slow with too many unnecessary details, but it does pick up pace and all the seemingly ‘overly-detailed’ explanations all tie up together beautifully in the end.

Thoroughly Enjoyed it. Fascinating imagination!
It's been a long long time since I've enjoyed a science fiction book so much. Reminds me of my younger days when I used to read Arthur C. Clarke. I absolutely loved the detailed description of the alien technology.
And the narration by Mel Hudson just added to the enjoyment. She put life into so many characters that it was hard to imagine it was the same person giving life to so many different personalities.
Absolutely loved it! Now I'm gonna rush to get the 2nd part of this series.

Imagination has no limits
Truly an extraordinary piece of sci-fi that explores the possibilities of human imagination. Despite the storyline being far reaching, it is still rooted on the human traits of greed, betrayal and sense of supremacy over the entire universe, great listen

exhilarating
Couldn't stop listening, one of the best I've read, heard so far. humans, so great yet so flawed, evolution and survival may lack elegance in the short term, but this story is a fantastic web of hope.
the narrator was incredible, can not imagine a better performance being possible.

Brilliant work of science fiction
Having recently completed Cixin Liu's highly imaginative 3 body problem series, I was bit skeptical whether other recent sci fi books would be able to match that high bar. I started this book because of glowing reviews.
And they were not mistaken. The author has created a richly detailed world and deeply drawn characters. Not just that, he makes the reader really invested in the affairs of the society of spiders and ants to an unimaginable level.
Really looking forward to the second book.

Amazing concept!
The book starts well but gets a bit slow in the middle. But once you get through it and come to the last quarter of the book, things get extremely interesting. Overall a well written book with an amazing concept which in a way challenges HUMANity. Audible experience was good.
