OK listen but sadly Highly Biased

I was hoping for a more accurate history of the church. While the details are all there, there is a very "Colonial Christian Bias". since the church has spent the majority of its life, wielding power to maintain control and grow fat on the blindness of its patrons, the authors gloss over this looking for the morsels of hope in the carnage. Finally in the summary it hones in on the very bigotry that has plagued the church and turns it towards Islam and any other faith which is more successful than protestant beliefs to claim that the church will rise again and vanquish the non believers. Clearly the authors are more enamored with church doctrine than Christs message. There is a hint of European superiority in the subject selection. Its ok as a companion study, but I would not recommend it as an accurate reflection of Church history.
