About this listen
Enter Dr. Jack Stapleton, a medical examiner in New York City and Bowman's brother-in-law: Jack's sister Alexis, now Craig's estranged wife, tearfully begs for his help as her husband's trial drags on. Jack agrees to travel to Boston to offer his forensic services and expert witness experience to Craig's beleaguered defense attorney. But when Jack's irreverent suggestion to exhume the corpse to disprove the alleged malpractice is taken seriously, he opens a Pandora's box of trouble. As Craig Bowman's life and career are put on the line, Jack is on the verge of making a most unwelcome discovery of tremendous legal and medical significance; and there are people who will do anything to keep him from learning the truth.

Never buy a book just because of the author's name
This book by Robin Cook one of my fav authors because of Coma and Sphinx - is one of the worst reads. Ever. Dragging prose, disconnected plots and a prologue so lengthy that I actually did a double check to see if the screen was not in sync with the book.
First of, its NOT a medical thriller. Secondly it's an even worse performer as a legal thriller. I'm in a dilemma to understand what RC was trying to achieve by this one, apart from cashing in on his past glory. I even wondered if its actually written by RC or ghost authored!
Terrible letdown and waste of several hours on this audio book. The ending is just the worse. absolutely no connection to the story and no explanations to so many incidents that needed connection.
I made it a point to write this review as I hadn't seen any review when I purchased this book. Will be returning this title. I'm not going to keep this atrocious book in my library.
