What worked:

Concept: The premise holds promise. A haunted setting with a mystery to unravel is classic horror territory.

Narration Quality: Mahjabeen Ali’s voice work is clear and steady, and the production is technically sound.

Atmosphere: Some parts manage to create a sense of foreboding, which is essential for horror.

What didn’t work:

Disjointed POVs: The frequent shifts in perspective hurt the pacing and emotional investment. Instead of building suspense, it fragmented the storytelling, making it harder to immerse oneself or root for any character.

Engagement: The plot progression feels uneven. There's a lack of momentum—moments that should have been tense or emotional fall flat because of how they're told.

Character Depth: With so many perspectives, none of the characters feel fully fleshed out. As a result, the listener never really connects with anyone.

🌟 2.5/5 – Interesting concept, but the narrative style lost me

I genuinely wanted to enjoy Cursed—the premise is intriguing and the setting has great potential. However, the constant shift in points of view made it difficult to stay emotionally invested. Just as I was getting into one character’s arc, the perspective would switch, breaking the flow and leaving me a bit disconnected.

The multi-POV format can be powerful when done with clarity and depth, but here it felt more like a distraction than a device. It diluted the tension and made it harder to care about what was happening.

That said, I appreciate the effort and voice acting—it’s clear that time and energy were poured into this project. Perhaps it will work better for listeners who enjoy fragmented or layered storytelling styles. Unfortunately, it just didn’t click with me.

Atmospheric, but too scattered to stay engaging.

very interesting plot, but there are many plot holes. author can write some parts more logically. Hence it might feel unrealistic. The plot twists are good. The cute love story is also good, but it's not necessary to make connections everywhere 🤣. overall one can definitely give it a try.

enjoyed listening, but there are many plot-holes

Beautifully scripted & wonderfully performed, Shraapit or Cursed is a slow paced , atmospheric Gothic Horror with intense twists & turns. The protogonaist Anvesha or Ann moves in to a new mansion with her elder sister & eerie incidents & strange Hauntings start invading their lives & slowly engulfs them completely till their mystery is solved which almost leads everyone to their deaths. A well crafted story with a touch of Neo Victorianisim in its plot- the book was well paced and it appears slow in the beginning but as the plot picks its pace later it also leaves tracks for a sequel that can easily be crafted out of them - if required.Thorougly enjoyed listening!

Absolutely Loved This Atmospheric Gothic Horror!
