The aptly named Axel Lewis delivers driving action with this riveting installment of Robot Races, delighting young listeners with its imaginative mix of adventure, sport, and technology. Racer Jimmy and robot Cabbie waste no time thawing out from their Arctic adventure: From one extreme to another, the pair’s next race is a desert dash under the Sahara sun. Performer Joe Jameson clicks on all cylinders, providing rangy and exuberant character acting for this colorful cast. The animated Englishman lends lighthearted playfulness to what turns out a rather risky race for humans and robots alike, as Jimmy and Cabbie overcome a deadly scorpion and costly crash, only to lose their navigation system in the midst of the world’s largest desert.
